Zoë Welsh was born in Wilkinsburg, PA and received her BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia in 2016. She is Represented by Concept Gallery, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Zoë creates mixed media paintings thematically oriented within the tradition of landscape iconography. Her most recent body of work focuses on somatic narratives of pregnancy, postpartum, and matrescence in contemporary life. Through inspiration and observation of the natural world, she transforms perceived space and complex emotion into felt landscape, allowing the formal elements to take on symbolic form beneath screens of vibrant transparent color.
